What is X-tra LASEK?
X-tra LASEK is a safety-enhanced vision correction procedure that combines conventional LASEK with corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL) using riboflavin and the Avedro KXL system. It strengthens corneal biomechanics by increasing collagen bonding strength.
Core Principles
- Collagen cross-linking: Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) application followed by UVA irradiation strengthens corneal collagen bonds by approximately 300%
