FAQ
What First-Time Visitors Want to Know
Check answers to common questions before and after surgery
Q. How much does vision correction/cataract surgery cost? The cost varies depending on examination results and the recommended procedure. Please visit for a free comprehensive examination and accurate pricing.
Q. Can I get examined and have surgery on the same day?2day LASEK allows same-day examination and surgery. LASIK and SMILE require a separate surgery date after examination. Cataract surgery may also be done same-day depending on circumstances.
Q. Do I need to remove contact lenses before surgery?Contact lenses must be removed before examination. Soft lenses: 4 days, toric soft: 6 days, RGP: 10 days, ortho-K: 1 month before the exam.
Q. What are the office hours and location?Mon-Fri 9:00-18:00, Sat 9:00-13:00, closed Sun/holidays. Lunch: 13:00-14:00. Located near Cheonan Station. Tel: 041-551-1082.
Q. How long is the recovery period after surgery?Recovery varies by surgery type. LASEK: 60-70% at 1 week, full at 1 month. LASIK/SMILE: next-day recovery. ICL and cataract: next-day daily activities possible.
Q. What are the differences between LASIK, LASEK, and SMILE?LASIK creates a corneal flap, LASEK removes the epithelium then uses laser. SMILE extracts a lenticule through a 2mm micro-incision, offering less pain and faster recovery.
Q. When is the best time to have cataract surgery?Consider surgery when daily life becomes uncomfortable. Delaying cataract surgery increases glaucoma risk and surgical complexity. Regular check-ups are recommended every 2 years after 40 and annually after 60.
Q. What is the difference between monofocal and multifocal IOLs?Monofocal lenses correct either near or far vision, requiring separate glasses. Multifocal lenses correct near, intermediate, and far distances simultaneously. The optimal lens is selected based on the patient's lifestyle.
Q. Does cataract surgery hurt?Cataract surgery uses topical (eye drop) anesthesia with virtually no pain. You may feel slight pressure and see bright light during surgery. Post-operative discomfort typically resolves within 1-2 days.
Q. Can vision deteriorate after surgery?Myopia recurrence after vision correction is rare. Some regression may occur in high myopia cases, and re-correction is possible. ICL lenses can be replaced or removed for added safety.
